Hand Specialist or Family Doctor?
NOLA hand specialist Brandon P. Donnelly, MD is uniquely qualified to treat hand issues in ways that family doctors are not. A board-certified specialist must complete ongoing training in the latest diagnostic techniques, treatments, and surgical procedures. A general practitioner may make a general diagnosis for hand pain or weakness. However, a hand specialist can quickly determine the difference between similarly presenting hand conditions. In cases where hands are injured in an accident, time is of the essence. Immediate access to a hand specialist can often save the function of the hand and result in a faster, more complete recovery.
