Dr. Brandon P. Donnelly

Brandon P. Donnelly, MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who treats patients of all ages in the Greater New Orleans area. His specialization and practice focus is in injuries and ailments of the upper extremity, including hand conditions, wrist conditions, and elbow conditions.

Originally from Slidell, LA, Dr. Donnelly returned to South Louisiana to join Pontchartrain Orthopedics and Sports Medicine after completing a hand and microsurgery fellowship at the prestigious Philadelphia Hand Center in 2014. Since his arrival, he has quickly established himself as a trusted and respected surgeon in the Greater New Orleans Area.  He has hospital appointments at East Jefferson, where he is Vice-Chair of Hand Surgery and St. Charles Parish Hospital.  In addition, he is active in the medical community by giving lectures at several orthopedic conferences in the Metairie and New Orleans area.

Education

After receiving his medical degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he was awarded the Orthopedic Surgery award, Dr. Donnelly was accepted into the LSU Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program. Over the course of five years, Dr. Donnelly trained in LSU Hospitals and affiliates in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette, learning from some of the best orthopedic surgeons in the state and region. During this time, he also served as a sideline physician for many local high school and college football teams, gave numerous presentations, and was published in several scientific journals.

Dr. Donnelly graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biological sciences from Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York, in 2004.

He is also a graduate of the class of 2000 from Pope John Paul II High School, in Slidell, where he was multi-sport athlete and awarded the Pope John Paul II High School Award his senior year.

Personal

Away from work, Dr. Donnelly enjoys spending time with his wife Erin and two children, Brandon Patrick and Mary Elizabeth. He enjoys outdoor sports, and is an LSU and Saints fan.
